YouTube Encourages Engaging Videos

  • Previously, YouTube made video suggestions to viewers based on how many people clicked to watch a video. YouTube has changed their algorithm to now suggest videos “based on which videos contribute to a longer overall viewing session rather than how many clicks an individual video receives.”
  • With this change, YouTube makes it easier for viewers to find enjoyable content and encourages video creators to make their content engaging.
